The quest for perfect beauty and the best skin care techniques available.
Society and the cosmetic industry have certainly set the bar high and the demands and expectations placed on cosmetic service providers are immense.
As with most things in life it is about balancing the positives of aiming high, whilst having realistic expectations. How do we accomplish this?
Make a promise you can keep by promoting healthy skin. When skin is healthy it looks at its best.
At The Anti Ageing Clinic, we promote and strive for healthy skin. We love our tried and tested cosmeceutical skincare range ‘Environ’ which promotes ‘feeding’ our skin topically with vitamins, peptides and antioxidants.
Alongside our other skincare brand ‘Advanced Nutrition Programme’ where we feed our skin from the inside ingesting their high-grade vitamin supplement range.
We also like to promote ‘skin needling’. Sounds painful? Don’t panic it’s really not!
SKIN NEEDLING? WHAT IS IT?
There are two types of needling ‘cosmetic needling’ which you can do at home and ‘medical needling’ which needs to be carried out by a trained professional.
If done correctly and on a regular basis combined with the right skincare, cosmetic needling can have a profound effect on the quality and appearance of the skin.

Tiny, painless, micro-channels are made in the skin surface with a 0.02mm roller, allowing penetration of the topically applied vitamins, which in turn dramatically increases the effectiveness of the product by allowing improved perfusion of the essential vitamins into the skin.
Basically, you get 10,000 times more penetration which in turn gives a much more enhanced result than just applying the product normally. And the best thing of all, it’s so easy to do! – All you require is a ‘Cosmetic Roll Cit™’

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND ‘COSMETIC SKIN NEEDLING’?
Cosmetic needling in the following ways
influences the skin:
By increasing the delivery of the right ingredients to the depth of the fibroblasts (fibroblasts are cells which play a role in keeping the skin young). Fibroblasts require nutrients, including vitamins A&C, to make collagen and elastin. Modern skincare is not just about delivering those ingredients to the depth of the fibroblasts, where they do the most good. The skins natural hydrophobic barrier (waterproof barrier) hinders the penetration of skin care products, especially those that are water-based e.g. most vitamin c products. The more vitamins we can deliver into the skin the better result we will achieve.
Medical Needling/Dermapen™ Very similar to ‘cosmetic needling’ only using a medical mechanical device and slightly longer needles are required.
The skin is fully numbed prior to treatment so you don’t feel any pain at all!
The needles create multiple micro-traumas all over the areas to be treated. Thus tricking the skin into believing it has sustained an injury (which it has, albeit microscopic). In turn, the skin responds by sending lots of nutrient-rich blood to the area to create a healing response at the injury site, also known as the ‘wound healing cascade. Lots of new collagen is laid down and subsequently, rejuvenation is achieved.
Post-treatment the skin looks ‘flushed’ like a mild sunburn which subsides over the next day or so. Some dryness on subsequent days is also expected but skin soon resumes back to normal state. Medical needling can be used to successfully treat the following:
- Wrinkles/Fine lines b Hyperpigmentation
- Rosacea b Premature ageing
- Scars b Enlarges pores
- Acne/Acne scarring b Stretch marks
