FAC51 The Hacienda Returns To Concourse At Depot Mayfield with Four Masters Of House Saturday 7th March
Kerri Chandler / Marshall Jefferson / Graeme Park / Norman Jay MBE
FAC51 The Hacienda’s announces its return to Concourse at Depot Mayfield Saturday 7th March, bringing together four of the leading guiding lights of dance music’s evolution, Kerri Chandler, Marshall Jefferson, Norman Jay MBE and Graeme Park.
Set within the industrial Concourse warehouse, designed to be reminiscent of the very best Nineties dancefloors, the top-class US / UK line up brings a mix of soul, funk and rare groove influences to the finest quality house music throughout the night.
With the original deep house trendsetter, New Jersey maestro Kerri Chandler heads the line-up. Someone whose reputation seems to continue to grow, even after some 30 years in the business, Kerri’s understanding of house music and styles make his performances unique.
Bringing all of that experience to his finely tuned sets, where he plays the piano live alongside his DJ’ing, it’s no wonder Kerri is nicknamed, “The Stevie Wonder Of House Music”, for his unique, distinctive sets which have made him one of the most in-demand DJ’s in the world.
“The Hacienda parties are always special with great atmosphere and a passionate “music first” crowd. I’m looking forward to being back in the UK and seeing all my Manchester family in March.” Kerri Chandler
American godfather of house music, Marshall Jefferson joins Kerri after his set in October’s Mayfield rocked so many of The Hacienda’s faithful crowd. With Marshall first ever UK gig coming at the original club in March 1987 at the “Chicago House Party”, Marshall has seen the scene grow from a handful of clubs to where it is today.
Again a DJ and producer whose legend seems only to increase as time passes, his recent re-recording and re-release of the seminal “Move Your Body” with Solardo brought that timeless classic back to life for a new generation.
About his relationship with The Hacienda, Marshall commented: “No matter where it is when we all come together, it’s home.”
Hacienda resident Graeme Park has come to require no introduction as he has maintained his involvement with The Hacienda and guided the musical direction of the club over some three decades now and counting.
“For me, this is a really exciting line-up for the Haçienda that will rock Manchester with a real variety of grooves. When we came to Concourse last time, the atmosphere was electric, and it was as close to the original club as I’ve seen in Manchester so I’m sure this is going to be just as good, if not better.” Graeme Park
And, to round up, London music royalty is set to open up proceedings as Norman Jay MBE bring his bus-load of Good Times, matching his intimate understanding of funk, soul and dance classics to being the night in his own casually brilliant style.
All in all, as FAC 51 The Hacienda comes back to Concourse for a night to remember, tickets for all previous events have been in high demand, and this promises to be no exception.
