Formerly from Miami Florida, Steve V. King moved to the UK and joined the official Drifters line-up – working beside the remaining members of the groups’ golden era such as Butch Leake, Roy Hemmings and Joe Blunt.
Singing the lead for the group during 8 years in which time he was awarded a gold disc by Sony for his contribution to the first new recordings by the Drifters in over 30 years.
After leaving the group in 2010, he has continued to perform worldwide and as an in-demand studio session vocalist.
We now present Steve V. King’s brand new single, ‘Nothing Could Stop Me Loving You’ written by 23-year-old composer and arranger, Alex Lloyd.
Alex has been writing soul and R&B music for many years – the genre remains his biggest passion.
He has studied and shadowed some of the great arrangers of American Soul music including legendary Motown arranger/writer McKinley Jackson and Philly Soul arranger and long-standing musical director of the O’Jays, Dennis ‘Doc’ Williams.
He cites writers such as Gamble and Huff, Thom Bell, and Holland – Dozier – Holland as some of his primary influences.
