UK LGBTQ+ artist Matthew Joseph returns with electro-pop infused new anthem ‘Chance’

ADVERTISERS

UK based artist Matthew Joseph will become the talk of the town in electro-pop infused new anthem ‘Chance’. Receiving praise from the likes of CLOUT Magazine, EQ Magazine and Twisted Male Magazine, Matthew has also collaborated with Derrick Barry of RuPaul’s Drag Race US. Having been featured previously on the likes of The X Factor, Matthew quickly realised the impermanence of that kind of shallow exposure and became determined to forge a meaningful path into the industry. He resolved to write his own music and lyrics, criticizing the current trend of virtual dating and our desperation for ‘online’ status whilst avidly supporting LGBTQ and other minority groups.

Introduce yourself in less than 10 words…..

gay pop artist from north Wales love of the 2000s

What made you want to get into music?

Growing up listening to Britney Freddie Mercury Beyonce blondie and Madonna
Proper performers. It gives me a buzz to be like them not just stood there singing.

What’s the writing process?

I just record bits on my phone that I love such lyrics / melodies and add together before going to studio – I love the process. But in this latest era of music I’ve worked with additional writers and loved it also.

What has been the best gig you’ve ever played and why?

I got to the final of open mic uk and played at the o2 that was cool.

The bigger the crowd the better in my opinion.

What would be on your rider?

Puppies and a framed picture of Britney Spears
Haha I joke
Probably quite boring
Lots of water smoothies & chocolate
I need music backstage to gear me up
Though and pillows

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Some things in this industry are about who you know sometimes which is annoying but I guess like any other job.

And I find in modern times especially in pop music labels etc expect you to be a finished product perfect already before considering signing you. Years ago artists would have plenty of growing time to mature and develop there sound.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

To never give up on my dreams

Work hard for everything if you’re passionate creative and nice enough you’ll get there.

If you could open for any band / act / solo artist who would it be?

Little mix or a Anne Marie –
someone fun like dua lipa get the party started for them

Where can we find out more? (also flog us some merch we love tees…..)

I post daily on my Spotify and constant content I upload.

Merch is on the way

Talk us through the new track / video

It’s called ‘Chance’ and it features  American musician Myah Marie (who’s worked with and features in Rupaul Selena Gomez and Britney Spears albums )  and it’s a breakup dance pop anthem in a way. It’s about the ups and downs about giving your ex a second chance and they always keep blowing it. We can all relate to this type of track I think…
