Local band Scuttlers are celebrating after getting a slot on the main stage of this summer’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival.
The Middleton based band won first prize in this year’s ‘Feel Good – Battle of the Bands’ competition and will take to the stage during the afternoon on Saturday 18 August supporting acts including Feeder and Cast.
Rock four-piece Scuttlers were the unanimous choice of the judges who were impressed with the bands’ energy, attitude and musical sound.
Ben Boothman, one of the judges and owner of main stage sponsor The Flying Horse Hotel said Scuttlers were the clear winner:
“All six finalists received a great response online but Scuttlers were the judges favourite, displaying good stage presence and star quality.
We are all looking forward to seeing them on our main stage and we think the crowd will enjoy them too.”
The band, who were formed in 2016 have been playing at venues and festivals across the North West comprises Kaiden Nolan, Liam Cleere, Tom Ogg and Jack Phillips.

Kaiden said they are over the moon after getting the chance to play the main stage:
“A big thank you to everyone who voted for us online to get us to the final.
To be lining up alongside Feeder and Cast is massive for us.
We can’t wait to bring our very own Middleton rock and roll to the Feel Good Festival.
I just hope the bus driver lets us on the number 17 with our amps!”
The band were short-listed through a Facebook vote before their videos were assessed by the judges – music specialist Rob Kerford owner of Sonic PR, DJ and new music champion Dave Sweetmore, Ben Boothman owner of the main stage sponsor The Flying Horse Hotel, Councillor Janet Emsley and Andy King, Chief Executive of Link4Life.
Scuttlers will be joined by previously announced headliner Feeder, Britpop legends Cast, ska music stars The Uplifters, country singer Emily Faye, new band Last Race Home, pop-rock duo The Curious Incident, Manchester duo KAZE, international songstress Anna Pancaldi, R & B singer [ K S R ], Rochdale indie dance funk band The Alchemists plus new bands VALA and High Wyre.
